Day 1

Tarangire National Park

Karibu Tanzania! Today our guide will collect you after breakfast from your hotel in or around Arusha to start your safari. He will brief you about the safari, the schedule and what to expect. The drive to Tarangire National Park will take about 2 hours. Enjoy the beautiful views of the local villages and Maasai herds on the way.

If you’ve never been to Tarangire (and even if you have) you’re in for a real treat. Tarangire is filled with giants – baobab trees all across the park, as well as elephants, lots of them. But that’s just the beginning. Of the big cats, you’ll probably see lions, and cheetahs and leopards are around, too. And it’s impossible to miss the wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Our guide will take you off the beaten track and he will share stories about the park and its wildlife, explaning more about the natural world around you.

At lunch time you will head to the picnic site for lunch. As you enjoy your meal, you might spot herds of elephants roaming nearby. The sound of birds singing and the rustling of leaves in the wind will add to the peaceful and serene atmosphere of the moment.
In the afternoon we leave Tarangire behind us and drive towards the beautiful Marera Valley Lodge.

There is a wonderful feeling of light and space when you stay at Marera Valley Lodge. Day 2

Serengeti National Park

We'll depart after breakfast and head towards Serengeti National Park,where we will arrive around lunch time. The Serengeti is one of the world's most famous wildlife destinations. We'll explore the vast plains in search of the Big Five and other animals like cheetahs, hyenas, and zebras. The Serengeti’s scenery is also unforgettable – observe Africa’s iconic acacia trees, the park’s golden grasslands and great piles of boulders known as kopjes.

As the sun begins to set over the African savannah, it's time to head back to your lodge after a thrilling day of safari adventures. But the experience isn't over yet - the journey back to your lodge can be just as exciting as the game drives themselves. As your vehicle makes its way through the park, you might catch glimpses of wildlife that are more active in the evening hours, such as hyenas or nocturnal birds. The changing colors of the sky and the warm glow of the setting sun add to the magic of the moment.

Day 3 & 4

Northern Serengeti National Park

This is the day you have been waiting for! We depart early in the morning and drive to Serengeti north. As you set out on your game drive, the open savannah will unfold before you, and your senses will be heightened as you listen to the sounds of nature and scan the horizon for any signs of movement. Your guide, who is a highly trained and experienced wildlife expert, will help you spot various animals and provide fascinating insights into their behavior and habitat.

As you venture closer to the Mara river, you might start to see vast herds of wildebeests, with their shaggy manes and sweeping horns, grazing peacefully. Along the way, you may encounter other predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas who are always on the lookout for their next meal.

During the migration season, you may also witness one of the most awe-inspiring sights in the animal kingdom – the wildebeest river crossing. As the herds move towards the Mara River, they must navigate treacherous waters filled with crocodiles and strong currents. The excitement and tension in the air during this event are palpable, and it's a moment you'll never forget.

As the sun sets, you'll make your way back to your accommodation, feeling exhilarated and awestruck by the incredible wildlife and scenery you've just witnessed.

Serengeti National Park

Driving back from North Serengeti to Central Serengeti is a journey through a vast and diverse landscape that showcases the incredible beauty of this region of Tanzania. As you leave the North behind, you'll be treated to a journey that's as breathtaking as it is unforgettable.

The route from North Serengeti to Central Serengeti is a scenic one, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the incredible views. Along the way, you'll pass through rugged terrain and open savannahs, with rolling hills and towering rocky outcrops providing a dramatic backdrop.

One of the highlights of the journey is the chance to see more wildlife as you make your way back towards Central Serengeti.

Day 6

Serengeti -> Ngorongoro

Today we wake up early and start the day with a beautiful sunrise game drive. There's something truly magical about experiencing the African wilderness at sunrise, and a sunrise game drive is one of the best ways to do so. The early morning is an incredible time to spot some of the park's most elusive and active wildlife, including lions, leopards, and hyenas. The cooler temperatures and softer light create the perfect conditions for a memorable safari adventure, as you journey through the park's vast savannahs and grasslands. During the morning game drive we slowly head back to the gate where we arrive around lunch time.

In the afternoon, it will be time to head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of the most stunning and unique parks in Tanzania. The journey to the park is an adventure in itself, as you traverse winding roads through breathtaking scenery.

Early Morning

There are no better views in Tanzania than the ones you'll enjoy on your dawn balloon ride over the Serengeti. Viewing the scenery and wildlife from above is an amazing experience.

Afternoon

A nature walk in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a fantastic way to experience the beauty and diversity of Tanzania's natural landscape. Led by an experienced guide, you'll journey through the park's lush forests and grasslands gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation for the region's unique ecology.

In the southern sector of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and a little away from the busy crater rim area, Ngorongoro Wild Camp has a lovely remote feel but is just a short drive from the wildlife action. Safari tents and cottages make up the camp, which is sometimes visited by giraffes.

Day 7

Ngorongoro Crater

A game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater is a highlight of any safari adventure in Tanzania. This unique natural wonder is home to an incredible array of wildlife, from herds of grazing antelope to majestic lions and towering elephants.

As you journey through the crater on a game drive, you'll have the chance to spot some of the park's most iconic species, including black rhinoceros, hippos, and wildebeest. Your experienced guide will share insights into the ecology of the region, as well as stories and facts about the fascinating behaviors of the park's many species.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a particularly special location for a game drive due to its enclosed nature. Surrounded by towering walls, the crater forms a natural amphitheater that makes it easy to spot a wide range of wildlife. You'll travel through lush forests and open savannahs, taking in breathtaking views of the crater floor and its many inhabitants.

In the afternoon your guide will drive out of the crater and take you back to Arusha or to the airport. It is time to say goodbye to your guide with whom have you spend some wonderful safari days. You came as a guest but you leave as a friend!
